Meeting Dates & Times
Moon Transportation Authority (MTA) will hold its monthly Board meetings in 2023 on the first Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. However, two meetings will be impacted by holidays and therefore, in January and September, moved to the following dates:
- Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
MTA will not hold a meeting in July or December.
All meetings will be held at the Moon Township Municipal Building, 1000 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA 15108.
If any meeting needs to be cancelled or conducted virtually, MTA will issue a public notice with updated information and post the change here on our webpage.

MTA Description and History
MTA was established by Moon Township ordinance April 29, 1986 to improve and construct transportation infrastructure that promotes economic development and enhances safety and welfare of Moon’s residents. The Authority is funded by the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) Revenue Allocation Program (RAP), a mechanism to finance certain transportation infrastructure improvements in the designated transportation district. Properties within the designated district are exempted from local taxes on the value of new buildings or improvements to commercial properties for 10 years. Participating property owners contribute funds to MTA in like amount of exempted taxes to advance priority transportation projects as identified by the Township. Any construction, reconstruction or improvement for which a building permit is issued on or before April 29, 2026 in the designated district is eligible to participate.
